The Night Before is an official selection of the Riverrun International Film Festival in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The festival runs April 22-25, 2004. The Night Before will screen Friday, April 23, 2004 at 10:30am in the Gold Theater at the North Carolina School of the Arts 1533 S. Main Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. The Night Before will make its film festival debut in Marco Island, Florida at the Marco Island Film Festival on November 8th with a second screening on November 9th. For more information, see the official Marco Island website.

Director Jay Holben meets with writer James Cole to discuss adaptation of Cole's short story Hot Shots into short screenplay
Early January, 2002
First draft of short screenplay is delivered. Rewrites begin.
January 21, 2002
First official script meeting with Jay Holben, James Cole and producers Jacqueline Cruz and Mark Russell . Rewrites continue.
February 6-8, 2002
Casting sessions for The Night Before take place at the offices of Hollywood Shorts/Griffith Place Films in Hollywood.
February 15, 2002
Final callback casting session.
February 20, 2002
First rehearsal with the main cast.

Final location scout.

First meeting with director Jay Holben and composer Buck Sanders.

Production designer Marny Nahrwold, art director Seth Reed and crew move into location in Camarillo and begin to construct set.
That evening, director Jay Holben makes a first walk-through of the work-in-progress hospital set.

The Night Before is notified that it has received the International Cinematographer's Guild Film Showcase award. 35mm print must be delivered by April 21.

HD-online sessions at The Post Group in Hollywood.

First test screening of HD to 35mm transfer at Cinesite in Hollywood.
April 15, 2003
First full screening of silent 35mm output at Cinesite.
April 17, 2003
First full screening of composite 35mm print with sound at Deluxe laboratories in Hollywood.
April 27, 2003
First public screening at the Director's Guild of America in Hollywood for the International Cinematographer's Guild Film Showcase 2003. Cinematographer Christopher Probst is honored for his achievement on the film.
June 18, 2003
The Night Before official premiere screening for cast, crew and invited industry representatives at Warner Bros. studios in Burbank.
